英雄联盟s10竞猜TIPS is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Thandika Mkandawire, one of Africa’s most respected economists and public intellectuals. Professor Mkandawire was regarded as a mentor by many and his insights into development economics will remain an inspiration.

TIPS was honoured to work with Professor Mkandawire through APORDE, the African Programme on Rethinking Development Economics. He was a lecturer on the programme in 2016, 2017 and 2018 when he presented his research and thinking on industrial development in Southern Africa; he also delivered the Alice Amsden Memorial Lecture in 2017 on Income Distribution as Industrial Policy. His lecturing style, relevant content and warm approach saw him becoming one of the favourite lecturers. Professor Mkandawire was the executive director of the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and a director of the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD).
